Kizimkazi Dolphin Day Tour

Start your day early with a pick-up from your accommodation in Zanzibar, heading towards Kizimkazi, a traditional fishing village on the southern coast of Zanzibar. The drive takes about 1.5 hours, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views of Zanzibar’s lush landscape.

Upon arrival at Kizimkazi, embark on a boat ride in search of dolphins. Kizimkazi is known for its population of bottlenose and humpback dolphins. You’ll have the opportunity to see these playful creatures swimming in their natural habitat. While swimming with the dolphins is not guaranteed, the sighting of these amazing marine animals is quite common.

 After dolphin spotting, the boat will take you to a nearby reef for snorkeling. The warm, crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean are teeming with colorful coral and diverse marine life. Snorkeling gear is provided, so you can explore the underwater world comfortably.

After snorkeling, return to Kizimkazi village. You can visit the historical Kizimkazi Mosque, one of the oldest in East Africa, built around the 12th century. Learn about the cultural and historical significance of this site from your guide.

Enjoy a delicious Swahili-style lunch at a local restaurant near the beach. Fresh seafood, coconut rice, and tropical fruits are often on the menu, offering you an authentic taste of Zanzibar’s cuisine.
