Itinerary

Day 1Arusha to Materuni Village to Arusha

Setting off on a picturesque drive, you’ll journey to Materuni Coffee Village, soaking in the scenic views along the way.

Upon arrival, dive deep into the rich cultural heritage of the Chagga tribe with a guided tour of Materuni Village.

Here, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in the traditional methods of coffee farming and processing. Transitioning seamlessly, engage in hands-on activities such as coffee picking and roasting.

After this immersive experience, savor the fruits of your labor with a freshly brewed cup of locally grown coffee, all while relishing the stunning vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Following this, embark on a leisurely hike through the lush landscapes enveloping Materuni Village, with ample opportunities to spot native flora and fauna.

As the day draws to a close, make your way back to Gate Away Lodge in Arusha for a tranquil evening, where you can unwind, perhaps over shared tales and snapshots of your day’s escapades.

Day 2Arusha to Ngorongoro to Karatu

    • Proceed with a thrilling excursion to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders.
    • Once there, descend into the crater’s floor, marveling at the breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife that call this UNESCO World Heritage Site home.
    • After descending, continue your adventure with a guided safari drive through the crater, with opportunities to spot the famous Big Five – lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos.
    • Following the safari drive, unwind and refuel with a picnic lunch surrounded by the stunning scenery of the crater, with panoramic views stretching as far as the eye can see.
    • After an exhilarating day of game viewing, begin your journey back to Fig Tree Campsite for the next day’s schedule.

Karatu To Lake Eyasi to Mto wa Mbu

  • Depart from Karatu and drive to Lake Eyasi, a journey that takes approximately 2-3 hours.
  • Arrive at Lake Eyasi and settle into your accommodation.
  • In the afternoon, embark on a cultural excursion to visit the Hadzabe Tribe, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa.
  • Spend time with the Hadzabe, learning about their traditional way of life, hunting techniques, and customs.
  • Enjoy a sunset hike or nature walk around Lake Eyasi, taking in the beautiful scenery.
  • Then drive back to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight a fig Tree Campsite

Day 3Mto Wa Mbu Cultural Tour

  • After smelling morning coffee, then we start on a bike tour of the vibrant Mto wa Mbu villages. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide,
  • Pedal through the bustling streets and markets of Mto wa Mbu, interacting with locals and experiencing the daily life of Tanzanian communities.
  • Explore the diverse cultural tapestry of the region as you visit traditional homes, artisan workshops, and lively markets, gaining insights into the customs and traditions of various ethnic groups.
  • After immersing yourself in the local culture, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the scenic beauty of the area, surrounded by lush vegetation and the sounds of nature.
  • In the afternoon, continue your bike tour, discovering hidden gems and scenic viewpoints along the way.
  • Finally, return to Arusha in the evening, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s experiences.

Tarangire to Arusha

After an early rise, we’ll embark on a captivating morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, covering approximately 154.1 km in about 2 hours and 33 minutes.

This park is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and offers an unparalleled game-viewing experience that will leave you in awe.

As our 6-day tour comes to a close, you’ll return to Arusha, reflecting on the incredible sights and experiences you’ve encountered along the way.
