You’ll experience varied ecosystems, from Tarangire’s elephant-filled baobab forests to the predator-rich plains of Ndutu and the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy comfortable stays at Farm of Dream Lodge, Ndutu Heritage Camp, and Ang’ata Camp.
The tour starts and ends at Arusha
The tour starts 6am
Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive through the park, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife. Tarangire is also home to a variety of bird species and is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems for wildlife viewing. After a day of exploring, head to Farm of Dream Lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight, where you’ll relax in a comfortable, tranquil setting with views of the surrounding landscapes.
After breakfast, depart Farm of Dream Lodge and head towards the Ndutu region in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive in Ndutu by early afternoon and enjoy a game drive, where you can witness the rich diversity of wildlife, including predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Depending on the season, you may also see the Great Migration herds of wildebeests and zebras. In the evening, check in at Ndutu Heritage Camp for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day in Ndutu with morning and afternoon game drives. This is the perfect opportunity to witness the Great Migration in action, especially during the calving season when thousands of wildebeest calves are born. The diverse landscape of Ndutu, from grassy plains to acacia woodlands, offers excellent chances for spotting predators on the hunt. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your game drive. Return to Ndutu Heritage Camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast at Ndutu Heritage Camp, enjoy one last morning game drive before departing for the Ngorongoro Crater. After a leisurely lunch back at the camp, drive to the crater and arrive at the Rhino Lodge by late afternoon. This tented camp is on the crater rim, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere. After checking in, relax with dinner and an overnight stay at Ang’ata Camp, preparing for your crater adventure the following day.
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to a vast variety of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, lions, and buffalo. The crater floor’s unique ecosystem, with its mix of forest, grassland, and lakes, provides stunning wildlife viewing opportunities. After a picnic lunch in the crater, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon to conclude your 5-day safari.
