Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Arusha from Zanzibar
Arrive in Arusha from Zanzibar on a morning flight. Upon arrival, transfer to Summit Safari Lodge where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay. If you’re interested, a complimentary city tour of Arusha can be arranged in the afternoon. Relax at the lodge and prepare for the safari adventure starting the next day.
Day 2Arusha to Ndutu
Begin your safari with a morning departure from Arusha, driving towards the Ndutu region, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After arriving in the early afternoon, you’ll enjoy a game drive across the woodlands and plains, with the chance to spot predators such as lions and cheetahs, along with herds of wildebeests and zebras. As the sun sets, head to Ndutu Heritage Camp for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3 Full Day in Ndutu
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Ndutu region, one of the best areas to witness the Great Migration and its accompanying predator-prey interactions. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing with your afternoon game drive, exploring the varied landscapes of Ndutu, from open plains to acacia woodlands. Return to Ndutu Heritage Camp in the evening for dinner and your second night under the stars.
Day 4Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at Ndutu Heritage Camp, enjoy one last morning game drive in the Ndutu area, taking in the stunning wildlife and landscapes. After a leisurely lunch back at the camp, depart Ndutu and drive towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive at the crater rim in the late afternoon, where you’ll check in at Ang’ata Camp, located at the crater’s edge. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of the camp as you unwind from the day’s journey. A delicious dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night at Ang’ata Camp, preparing for your next day’s adventure in the crater
Day 5Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast at Ang’ata Camp, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, hippos, lions, and the rare black rhino. Explore the crater floor, spotting animals in its diverse ecosystems, from forests to grassy plains. After a picnic lunch by a crater lake, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha and catch an evening flight back to Zanzibar, concluding your 5-day safari adventure.
